About Us

My photo
We met over 8 years ago at church as Shaun was walking in and I was walking out. The few words exchanged sparked an interst that kept Shaun coming back. When we FINALLY began dating 4 years later we soon knew there was something special here. Our first year quickly flew by and we both decided we never wanted to spend another year with anyone else or without each other. We married in the place where it all began on January 1, 2011 (1/1/11) and gave birth to our beautiful daughter Ava Marie on September 22, 2011 our next little one, Clara Rose came 16 months later on February 11, 2013. This blog began with our preparation with our wedding and has entered into recording the days and events of our newlywed life and new motherhood.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

So Shaun began working nights again tonight and it was great to have him home for a while during the day.  REALLY great.  He got to sleep in for a change and then we got to go out for breakfast and hang out with the baby (who enjoyed lounging around after her bath ...She's just so stinkin cute!) and just spend some great time together.

After he left, my Mom stopped by for the evening and enjoyed spending some time with Ava and watching Christmas movies.  While Nana was holding her I was able to get a few things done that I'd been trying to get to.  I wrapped a few gifts, organized and recycled a few messy corners, dusted some dustiness, reorganized the DVD's alphabetically (ok, I went a little overboard) and set up the Nativity set.

(Mary & Joseph are awaiting Jesus' coming)

Because I'm a "Stay at home Mom" now and can't get "monetary" gifts, I've had to become more creative with my ways of showing my love to Shaun and surprising him.  So I've been doing little things like painting the basement, decorating the house and surprising him in little ways.  I've also been saving my spare change (you can save quite a bit when you save your change) and am still working on a surprise for Christmas/Our Anniversary.  As for the Nativity set that I've been trying to get to for a while now, it's nice to see it set up as it's a great help in meditating on Christ's coming.  I hope Shaun's surprised when he comes home!
