About Us

My photo
We met over 8 years ago at church as Shaun was walking in and I was walking out. The few words exchanged sparked an interst that kept Shaun coming back. When we FINALLY began dating 4 years later we soon knew there was something special here. Our first year quickly flew by and we both decided we never wanted to spend another year with anyone else or without each other. We married in the place where it all began on January 1, 2011 (1/1/11) and gave birth to our beautiful daughter Ava Marie on September 22, 2011 our next little one, Clara Rose came 16 months later on February 11, 2013. This blog began with our preparation with our wedding and has entered into recording the days and events of our newlywed life and new motherhood.

Kids Dream-Dream come true

A couple of months ago I wrote an email to a company called "Kids Dream" complimenting them on their beautiful dresses and begging asking if they would be willing to exchange "modeling" in return for their beautiful frocks for this stay at home mom.

A very nice woman got back to me promptly and said she'd give us a shot.  She chose four beautiful dressed (two for each of the girls) and quickly sent them out to us from California only asking that I take a few pictures (me... take a few pictures, ha!) and send them back to her.  She patiently waited as the girls grew into the dresses and heat waves, unexpected black eyes, bruised legs, mosquito bites and summer days passed into more manageable weather and nap schedules.

I recently took the girls to a local site where there is a beautiful field and old building that is crumbling into ruins.  I let Ava run around and just tried to keep up as she happily pranced around feeling like Cinderella in her beautiful new dress!  (She calls it her "ella" dress)

They were really so pleasant and wonderful to us.  Please keep them in mind if you need a flower girl, Easter, Christmas, Birthday or Special Occasion dress!  They really are stunning!  I'll be posting photos of the other three dresses separately, but here are some photos of Ava in the lovely Blue one.

It has a sequined top and organza/tulle bottom with a beautiful detachable flower clip on the side and satin belt.

as well as many children's "boutiques" online.  Just type in "Kids dream dresses" to find them.

Beach Days

Shaun was home "early" at 5pm (ish) on Wednesday and we enjoyed the nice surprise by taking a quick evening trip to the beach.

I popped some of this quickly in the oven while I got the car ready and in 15min we were ready to head out.
Came in handy for a quick beach dinner.

Guess who we found there???  Someone (Nana) was already relaxing to the sound of lapping water.

Ava enjoyed exploring with Daddy and finding hermit crabs and seashells.

They did find one "real" crab, but when Shaun tried to catch it... it caught him first.  Poor thing.
them be some hard working hands.

...sorry people, the only kind of tans we have time for are the hardworking "farmer" tan type.

you got a little pizza there...

"Sank you"

Ok, smile for Mommy!

"Daddy?"

 "I love you Daddy..."

" I love YOU, Ava..."

 *Kiss*

Clara spent much of her time with Nana watching Mommy and Daddy and Ava in the water.  She was sporting her sister's old swimsuit.  Ava was 10mo old in it last year and obviously a bit bigger and "curlier" but they're both so cute in it!

I had picked these up at CVS for 75% off the other day (so instead of spending $20 a piece, I spent $5.  I got two because I know next year I'll have two in vests)

Though we only stayed for about an hour, Ava was a happy camper and ready for bed when we got home.

I do consider us to be the bravest people in the world because just a couple of weeks back the beaches were closed due to shark sitings less than a mile from shore

I'm so scared of Sharks (Shaun's not scared of anything) that just looking for a picture for the blog made me nauseous and I had avoided the beach for most of the late summer.  I had images of my entire family being wiped out in one hungry bite... still, we braved the waters (to my waist... Shaun went further out) for the sake of family memories.

I think it was worth it.
