About Us

My photo
We met over 8 years ago at church as Shaun was walking in and I was walking out. The few words exchanged sparked an interst that kept Shaun coming back. When we FINALLY began dating 4 years later we soon knew there was something special here. Our first year quickly flew by and we both decided we never wanted to spend another year with anyone else or without each other. We married in the place where it all began on January 1, 2011 (1/1/11) and gave birth to our beautiful daughter Ava Marie on September 22, 2011 our next little one, Clara Rose came 16 months later on February 11, 2013. This blog began with our preparation with our wedding and has entered into recording the days and events of our newlywed life and new motherhood.

Ava remembers

This morning Ava came and crawled into my bed as she always does when she wakes up in the morning, padding into my room sleepily holding "Chey Chey Nee, Blanket and Favorite Nee".  She came up on our bed ("The Ship" she calls it) and cuddled close to my head while she was all rolled up in my arms.

Ava: "Where's Daddy go?"
Me: "Daddy had to go to work...
...but he misses you.  He told me before he left"  "Jesus, Please watch over Daddy at work" "Gabriel, please keep your Daddy safe at work"

...some minutes pass in silence as I drift back off to sleep with Ava in my arms (I was up a lot with Clara and am reluctant to get up just yet... good thing Ava's a cuddler)

Ava:  "The New Baby not stay in your belly, Mommy"
Me: "That's right, Ava"
Ava: "He go to heaven with Jesus"
Me: "That's right."
Ava: (loudly) "Gabriel!!!  I LOVE you GABRIEL!!!  I LOVE you SOOOO MUCH!"
Me: "Good girl, Ava.  He's still your brother.  He still loves you and he still can hear you.  He will always love his sister"
Ava: "Yeah.  Gabriel loves Ava."

    1. Right? She said it again while we were driving and running errands later that day. He's very much with us.

  7. Marijanna,
I have been following your blog for awhile now and I just wanted to "come out of the woodwork" and let you know that I have been praying for you and your family every day. I am so incredible sorry for your loss. My sister and brother-in-law lost my nephew, baby Michael, at 24 weeks so I can imagine the horrible pain and anguish you must be going through.

I will be keeping sweet Gabriel in my prayers, but I know Momma Mary has him in her sweet embrace. God bless you.

    1. Oh, Lisa! I'm so glad to "meet" you! Thank you so so much for the prayers! They are so powerful. I agree that Our Lady is taking very good care of him. I will keep your family and little Michael in my prayers (and your upcoming Wedding as well! SO exciting!). God bless you too. xo
