About Us

My photo
We met over 8 years ago at church as Shaun was walking in and I was walking out. The few words exchanged sparked an interst that kept Shaun coming back. When we FINALLY began dating 4 years later we soon knew there was something special here. Our first year quickly flew by and we both decided we never wanted to spend another year with anyone else or without each other. We married in the place where it all began on January 1, 2011 (1/1/11) and gave birth to our beautiful daughter Ava Marie on September 22, 2011 our next little one, Clara Rose came 16 months later on February 11, 2013. This blog began with our preparation with our wedding and has entered into recording the days and events of our newlywed life and new motherhood.

I didn't plan on writing this...

I didn't plan on writing this, but was reading Cari's blog "Clan Donaldson" this morning and after crying like a baby over this video, felt compelled to give a shout out to my cousin "Eddy" who is everyone's favorite member of the family... everyone's!

Eddy is a cancer survivor, and when he was going through treatment would sit down in his chair and instead of complaining would probe around to find a "good vein" for the nurses and then visit each of the other patients to spread his good attitude around.  He truly transformed the place!

Eddy does that.  He transforms wherever he goes.

Eddy is also an Olympic Gold Medalist with the Special Olympics.  His Father says that it's Eddy who keeps him in shape and gets his to take care of his health.  Our family is Lithuanian and My Auntie Leone & Uncle Ed always wanted to go to Lithuania.  They never suspected it would be Eddy who would bring them there.  When he placed in the Special Olympics and they traveled to Lithuania for the competitions held there that year, they were able to make connections with friends and distant family members that they may never have been able to had it not be for this beautiful child.

Eddy has always brought joy wherever he is.  I have memories of him throughout my childhood and now into my adulthood that always bring a smile to my face.  Here are some photos of him visiting over my pregnancy.  It was a wonderful visit.  Can't wait till the next one!

Now break out the kleenex and watch the video that inspired this post.  Love you Eddy.  The world would not be the same without you!

  1. Marijanna--that was a beautiful post, I am crying like a baby, thanks for the warning!!

I'm (way) over 35 so when I'm pregnant, the doctors always check for down Syndrome and want to do extra testing for it and it drives me crazy because I'd love my baby no matter what. It's sad because there must be moms out there who would not.

Great post--you looked radiant while pregnant!

    1. Oh my gosh, I watched it all over again and made it through like a minute and a half before the tears started pouring. My cousin, Leone (Eddy's sister) got the post on Facebook and was a blubbering mess. Lol!

Thanks for the compliment! I loved being pregnant (except for the swollen ankles and preeclampsia at the end). Ava was really good to me, even in the womb!
