About Us

My photo
We met over 8 years ago at church as Shaun was walking in and I was walking out. The few words exchanged sparked an interst that kept Shaun coming back. When we FINALLY began dating 4 years later we soon knew there was something special here. Our first year quickly flew by and we both decided we never wanted to spend another year with anyone else or without each other. We married in the place where it all began on January 1, 2011 (1/1/11) and gave birth to our beautiful daughter Ava Marie on September 22, 2011 our next little one, Clara Rose came 16 months later on February 11, 2013. This blog began with our preparation with our wedding and has entered into recording the days and events of our newlywed life and new motherhood.

Marriage and Babies

My friend Janine (you remember Janine, she has the 16 gorgeous children?) held a bridal shower for her daughter Erin (who is her oldest and is getting married in about a month!)  Ava and I attended.  Here's Janine holding Ava with her daughter, Meaghan (don't let that sweet face fool you.  They've dubbed her "monster Meaghan")

Here's her youngest, Caroline.  What a cutie!

Here's Janine with her oldest (Erin, the bride to be) and her youngest, Caroline

Meaghan practicing smiling for before the Wedding day...

(Doesn't she just look SO excited to be getting married?)

Beautiful Maggie!

and after my last post I met this cutie pie, who crawled up into my arms and gave a hug like she'd had TONS of practice doling out the loving.

I always look at Janine's beautiful family (or any family) and can't help but rejoice in the differences of personalities and beauty of each child, then I pause and think to myself about the way our country thinks about children.  They don't see them as a blessing anymore, but some sort of curse.  I'd like to ask, "Which of these beautiful children shouldn't be here?  Which one's too much of an inconvenience?  Which one is the one who shows Janine's family as "selfish" for having too many children?  Which one would you get rid of?"  I hope this shows how stupid this mentality is!

  1. Oh, she has a beautiful family, thanks for sharing them with us.

I love each child's personality and after each baby, even at the hospital, can't wait to have the next one, to see how different they are. It's amazing.

My 2 oldest girls couldn't be more different in every way possible. I love them both the same.
    (with all my heart)

Thanks for sharing that video, I just put it on my blog, I cried like a baby through the whole thing!!!

    1. Glad you enjoyed it! They are a beautiful family. I used to babysit for those kiddos... now they're so big!

I love little Ava's personality so much. It just keeps getting better and better. I wonder if/when we're blessed with the next one, what they'll be like?

Go ahead and say hello! I love comments!
