About Us

My photo
We met over 8 years ago at church as Shaun was walking in and I was walking out. The few words exchanged sparked an interst that kept Shaun coming back. When we FINALLY began dating 4 years later we soon knew there was something special here. Our first year quickly flew by and we both decided we never wanted to spend another year with anyone else or without each other. We married in the place where it all began on January 1, 2011 (1/1/11) and gave birth to our beautiful daughter Ava Marie on September 22, 2011 our next little one, Clara Rose came 16 months later on February 11, 2013. This blog began with our preparation with our wedding and has entered into recording the days and events of our newlywed life and new motherhood.

7 Quick Takes Friday

#1.  Ava learned to clap yesterday (see cute video on previous post).  She's also learning to stand on her own this week...

...AND getting two of her first teeth on the bottom (I keep trying to get pictures but her tongue or lips get in the way), so I'll attach this video of how "happy" she's been through this whole process... NOT!  Teething has turned my usually happy baby into THIS...

...now you get the picture!

#2.  She's also had WICKED bad separation anxiety and trouble going to sleep at night (see above video again), so it's been fun.  I keep wondering if God is preparing me for our next child and if the next one will be much different than Ava.  We'll see!

#3.  I'm now 11 1/2 weeks along with Baby #2 and he/she looks something like:

and is the size of... a lime!
#4.  Shaun's been working during all his spare moments to clear out trees and brush from the new house's spacious jungle yard.

His friend "Bob" came down last weekend to lend a hand.

Thanks "Uncle Bob"!
#5.  We also finally took down two HUGE pine trees (over 70' tall) that were just over our property line, but growing over the house and filling the roof and gutters with needles and dirt/debris.  The guy who owns the property originally said he'd contribute towards the cost of taking them down since they were on his property... then backed out the last minute so we had to pay the extra $1000 more...

...nice.

Before (see the one on the left.  Can't even fit it in the photo)

After

number one...
 number two...

If you're looking for a good tree guy, call Nick!

#6  Shaun's Mum & sister Dana came to visit after a beach day last night and stayed over.  Great time!  Ava had so much fun she didn't want to go to bed!

No matter how tired she was...

 The Girls and their curls!

#7.  My dear mother has been visiting a LOT bringing food (she's a terrific cook) and eager to houseclean.  Am I lucky or WHAT?  I'm not trying to brag, just trying to give her the props she deserves.
Because she visited the other day and played with Ava, I was FINALLY able to get the million loads of laundry done that had piled up with the crying baby clinging to my person 24-7 (see above video again)

That may not seem like much to anyone else, but when the last load was done, I wanted to throw a party!

Now the laundry's done but my bedroom looks like this... times like 20.
