About Us

My photo
We met over 8 years ago at church as Shaun was walking in and I was walking out. The few words exchanged sparked an interst that kept Shaun coming back. When we FINALLY began dating 4 years later we soon knew there was something special here. Our first year quickly flew by and we both decided we never wanted to spend another year with anyone else or without each other. We married in the place where it all began on January 1, 2011 (1/1/11) and gave birth to our beautiful daughter Ava Marie on September 22, 2011 our next little one, Clara Rose came 16 months later on February 11, 2013. This blog began with our preparation with our wedding and has entered into recording the days and events of our newlywed life and new motherhood.

My Child of God

Miss Clara Rose Fullen was baptized last Saturday evening in the context of our parish's 4pm Mass.  She was only 20 days old.  I love that she was baptized so early and I love that our parish family was able to share this with us as well as so many family and friends who traveled from near and far to join us on this special occasion.

She wore the same baptismal gown that Miss Ava Marie wore and which had been made by the loving hands of Shaun's grandmother over 30 years before in what is now our home.  Shaun's grandmother, Mary had made it for his sister Mary to wear (who happened to become Ava's godmother).  Mary had worn it.  Her daughters had worn it.  Ava has worn it and now Clara has worn it... when they all were baptized into God's family... a bond even stronger than their filial blood relations.  I love that it also brings his grandmother there with us in spirit to each of the girl's baptisms.  I'm sure she is praying for us all.

She seemed to love being baptized as she didn't utter a peep as the waters of life poured over her head.

Her godparents were Shaun's sister and brother in law and we were so happy to have chosen them.

Ava was overall a very good girl, but a bit fidgety as this Mass falls during her second nap of the day.

(this is Shaun's favorite picture cause it's "keeping it real" and was his personal request for the new header photo)

Our small house was packed to standing room only with those we love and we felt blessed to have so many there that there was no room to even sit down!

(my Godmother... and her namesake "Rose"... but we call her "Buddy" lovingly after RoseBUD)

She was blessed generously with gifts and many loving embraces.  Thank you to all who were able to attend and to all those of you who have welcomed her into this world with your love and prayers!  I know I'm overdue for posts and pictures, but I've had my hands full.  More to come soon.

It's amazing to think that when she was baptized, we had no Pope!  We're soon to rectify that, though.

    1. Thanks Maria! Looks just like Ava, right? Thank you for the prayers. Miss you too, but Shaun had to work this past weekend and the girls were napping during the "social" time at the chapel. The prayer time wouldn't have been all that "prayerful" if we'd come. Ava's into her "noisy" days at church now. Love you both, though.
