About Us

My photo
We met over 8 years ago at church as Shaun was walking in and I was walking out. The few words exchanged sparked an interst that kept Shaun coming back. When we FINALLY began dating 4 years later we soon knew there was something special here. Our first year quickly flew by and we both decided we never wanted to spend another year with anyone else or without each other. We married in the place where it all began on January 1, 2011 (1/1/11) and gave birth to our beautiful daughter Ava Marie on September 22, 2011 our next little one, Clara Rose came 16 months later on February 11, 2013. This blog began with our preparation with our wedding and has entered into recording the days and events of our newlywed life and new motherhood.

A little visit from St. Nicholas

While Ava was napping today, St. Nicholas stopped by on his return trip from visiting all the children who left their shoes out for him to fill today on his Feast day.

When she wakes from her nap and sits for lunch, she will find waiting for her in front of our Advent Wreath this little display:

A little soft polar bear named "Nicholas" from someplace very cold!  (Lately she's been watching a movie on baby Polar bears that Nana bought for her)

He left her this note:

Her pretty black shiny shoes (which she's almost grown out of) were filled with fruit and a pretty ornament (with angels adoring the Christ child and a note written on the back to remember the Feast of St. Nicholas) to hang on the tree when it goes up!

and a recordable story board-book that Daddy can record his voice to, so that when he's not able too make it home after a very long day before she goes to bed, he can still "read" her the Christmas story to send her off to sleep.

Happy Feast of St. Nicholas little one!

...and this was her response!
Thank you St. Nicholas!
