About Us

My photo
We met over 8 years ago at church as Shaun was walking in and I was walking out. The few words exchanged sparked an interst that kept Shaun coming back. When we FINALLY began dating 4 years later we soon knew there was something special here. Our first year quickly flew by and we both decided we never wanted to spend another year with anyone else or without each other. We married in the place where it all began on January 1, 2011 (1/1/11) and gave birth to our beautiful daughter Ava Marie on September 22, 2011 our next little one, Clara Rose came 16 months later on February 11, 2013. This blog began with our preparation with our wedding and has entered into recording the days and events of our newlywed life and new motherhood.

We finally have a computer!

We have been without a computer since the last post.  While working at the school, they very generously let me use a laptop to work at home and finish some online classes.  At the end of the school year, I returned it as it needed to be updated for the next user.  A friend of ours builds computers and built us a great one for the house, but we needed to save for it first.  Finally we are back online and I am trying to catch up.  Here he is setting up our new gigs.

It's been a busy last few weeks!  I went for my glucose test as well as a bunch of bloodwork and gallbladder ultrasound and so far everything is going GREAT with the pregnancy!  I cannot BELIEVE she'll be here in 8 1/2 weeks!!!  Yikes!

The day I went for the glucose test and bloodwork, my mother came with me and I was very thankful for her company.  For some reason, though (Hormones perhaps???) I was very anxious.  I actually have a personal fear of needles and having my blood taken... I know it's silly, but it's there none the less.  The funny thing is that I can handle the "big" stuff.  I have a high pain threshold and can usually manage when there's a lot going on or a big crisis to handle... but get all caught up in the little stuff.  My poor mom looked at me at one point and said, "I had no idea you hated needles so much!  You'd never know from watching you"  I know I need to be a good patient, so I try not to get too distressed when I have to have something done.  INSIDE, though... I get very anxious.  Eventually after a few hours of waiting and testing, I was given the tour of where I'd be delivering.  The nurses were wonderful and so nice.  I walked into one of the rooms and began talking to her and all of a sudden burst into tears!!!  I was more surprised than her!  She laughed and said, "Welcome to being pregnant!"  I didnt' know what was wrong with me and realize now how thankful I should be that my hormones have not really been going that crazy throughout this whole beautiful process.  Or should it be Shaun who's thankful?

The evening after all my testing, I came home to our last evening with the statue of the Sacred Heart and 15 people who came to attend our "Enthronement Mass"  It was beautiful and I must say that I feel many graces have been given to our family already.

My days have been kept very busy with the little ones I watch during the summer and they've been very accomodating with all of my (sometimes VERY) swollen ankles, moving slower and dealing with the heat.

(these aren't mine but sometimes they look like this:)

(no matter how hard I try to make them look pretty, they still feel like this...)

..but I know it's all worth it because I have THIS to look forward to in the end...

Recently I was surprised with a Baby Shower thrown by my co-workers at Holy Family-Holy Name.  I was totally surprised!  Shaun & his daughter, Cheyanne were totally in on it and I thought I was going to a "Chocolate Party" (couldn't miss that!)  Ava Marie got TONS of cute things (especially clothes, which we needed).  Here are a few peeks:

Lots of books (can't wait to read to her!)...

Bath time items...

Stuff to keep her clean & healthy...

Things to play with...

And LOTS of clothes...

and that's just a FEW of them!!!  Thank you SO much everyone!  Can't wait to see how cute she looks in all her new duds!

  1. wow!! only 8 1/2 weeks?? Crazy isn't it? We went to the Museum of Science and they have a "Birth" exhibit going on. Payton was looking at the models on the wall and there was one at 6 months and one at 9months. I said "Look, that's about how big Ava Marie is already". She replied "Wow, mommy - she must be smooshed!!" lmao :)

Congrats... put your feet and enjoy whatever quiet time you can get :)
