About Us

My photo
We met over 8 years ago at church as Shaun was walking in and I was walking out. The few words exchanged sparked an interst that kept Shaun coming back. When we FINALLY began dating 4 years later we soon knew there was something special here. Our first year quickly flew by and we both decided we never wanted to spend another year with anyone else or without each other. We married in the place where it all began on January 1, 2011 (1/1/11) and gave birth to our beautiful daughter Ava Marie on September 22, 2011 our next little one, Clara Rose came 16 months later on February 11, 2013. This blog began with our preparation with our wedding and has entered into recording the days and events of our newlywed life and new motherhood.

7 Quick takes Friday

(FYI: Be prepared for lots of pictures)

1.  Visited Grama recently and loved spending time with her, Mark and Auntie Dana!

*sigh*  Aren't Grama's great?

2. Also had a visit from Auntie Louise & Uncle Dave recently (LOVE them!)

3. This girl seriously loves her Daddy!
"Daddy... I love your cheeks, but you need a shave"
 "Back off girls, he's MINE!"
 Favorite perch in the house.

4. Big Sister, Cheyanne played Addaperle in "The WIZ" at her school play this week and did A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!  She was SO funny, totally had the accent down, had everyone laughing and who KNEW she could SING like that!  Did a great job!
She ROCKED that costume!  You go girl!!!
Waiting for the Show to start!
After the show (Chey's STILL cute like that!  Amazing.)
A VERY proud Daddy looks on!
After the show Ava tried to say "You did a great job, sis, but I'm wicked wicked wicked tired"
Passed out when she got home from being such a supportive fan.
"There's NO place like HOME!" (Slept 13 hours to recoop!)

5.  I re-use kleenex boxes when the tissues are all out to throw little garbage odds and ends in (such as all the scraps of paper from when I made the Valentine's cards)  When it's full I just toss the whole thing.

6. A sweet Valentine's gift from my Mom (aka: "Nana")

"I LOVE YOU NANA"

7. We've been thinking about re-upholstering our couches. Have you done this before? Any suggestions?

  1. Slip covers!! lol. That way you can switch them whenever you feel like a change and re-upholstering costs almost as much as replacing the furniture. How does your week look this week?

    1. Thanks for the idea, Tee! Looks good! Maybe we could get together? Shaun's working nights so our schedule's upside down, but after 2pm Tues-Fri could work!

  2. Holy Moly, your baby is totally gorgeous!! Those eyes, those cheeks, that hair!! What a cutie. :)

And I second the slip cover suggestion above. We slip covered our sofa due to the extreme nastiness of being a piece of furniture in a house with six kids. It's great because it is much less expensive than reupholstering and you can also remove the slip cover and throw it in the washer. That's the biggest plus for me! Check out Sure Fit online. They have a ton of styles and the slip covers fit so tightly now that they don't look all drapey and saggy. (I have enough drapey, saggy stuff around here, lol!)

    1. Thanks Aimee! I think we'll keep her. Her disposition is as sweet as her looks. And YOUR cuties! I could just pinch the littlest's cheeks!!! I'm laughing about the drapey saggy comment... I went from newlywed to... drapey saggy in ONE year! lol! Love your blog.
