About Us

My photo
We met over 8 years ago at church as Shaun was walking in and I was walking out. The few words exchanged sparked an interst that kept Shaun coming back. When we FINALLY began dating 4 years later we soon knew there was something special here. Our first year quickly flew by and we both decided we never wanted to spend another year with anyone else or without each other. We married in the place where it all began on January 1, 2011 (1/1/11) and gave birth to our beautiful daughter Ava Marie on September 22, 2011 our next little one, Clara Rose came 16 months later on February 11, 2013. This blog began with our preparation with our wedding and has entered into recording the days and events of our newlywed life and new motherhood.

Easy & Cheap!

Ok, so this is an easy & cheap snack that fills the bowl for around $1 and only takes a couple of minutes to make.  Yummy Kettle corn!!!

You'll need a medium to large stockpot
 Turn heat to medium
 Add apx 3Tbsp Vegetable oil
Place 2 or 3 kernels of popping corn in oil and when they "Pop" the temperature is ready
 Add apx 2Tbsp butter
 And apx 1/4cup popping corn
Cover and "Shake"over heat until popping sounds slow to about 1-2 seconds between "pops"
Turn heat off
Add apx 1/4 cup of sugar

And a couple of Tbsp of salt to popcorn
 Cover & Shake vigorously
Pour into large snacking bowl and ENJOY!

Try offering this instead of chips at a party gathering (you can spice up the flavor or play around with toppings) for a less expensive treat that is just as enjoyable and probably better for you!

  1. Hehe... I was gonna make a comment about the title, but I'm behaving!! lol. I am the only one in the house that's not a fan of kettle corn, but I might just HAVE to make some for the next party! Thanks for sharing this recipe :)
